Kat Harvey Cheese is a specialist cheese shop at the M-Arts Precinct on Wollumbin Street in Murwillumbah, opposite the Knox Park car park. It carries a curated selection of more than 50 Australian and imported cheeses, with custom cutting and wrapping and gift packaging (including cooler bags and ice packs) so cheese can travel home in good condition. The shop has a real local following for its made-to-order signature toasties, built on local produce and quality ingredients.
The business is run by Kat Harvey, who brings well over a decade in the Australian cheese industry as both cheesemaker and monger, having trained under respected makers including Carla Meurs of Holy Goat and Paul Wilson of Nimbin Valley Dairy, on top of years of professional cooking. As well as the counter, she runs cheese-tasting workshops for small groups and makes bespoke cheese towers as an alternative to a celebration cake.
